This could mean adding text, providing instructions, or selecting an option that does not require stock of a physical product.
Customizations can change the SKU and price of a product, be restricted to specific customer groups, laid out differently, charged per qty or once, and more!

In this example, non-logged in customers will see only the option to upload a Logo whereas logged in customers will see additional Customizations.
This is an example a of a Simple Product that can be customized by the customer with additional options. In this case, all customers have the option of uploading a logo that should be printed on the bag, and which color should be printed. Using Zoey's Customer Groups feature, a third option is displayed only to logged in customers that allows for a selection of further customization.
Customizations can allow for an additional charge to be billed when such a customization is requested, and such pricing can be defined by group as part of the granular control offered to Zoey merchants.
